I believe that as an artist, I absorb thought, conscious and visual, differently, I absorb  texture, shape, color, and relationship of negative spaces within my natural boundaries, differently. I believe I absorb myself in emotion, differently, and that art creates a barrier in which I can live within, free from distraction of the world around me.
Art becomes my sanctuary of safety. My silent engagement with self, the raw nakedness which substantiates who I am, and separates me from anyone else, is within the confines of my studio. It is where I simply exist in thought, silent from conversation, and free from any predisposed notion
of what,or who, anyone thinks I am, or should be.

In the studio, I simply "Am," in purest resolution of everything that I am, and all which has exalted, or broken  me.
